1989, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Lives and works in Cadaqués, Spain

Joaquín Lalanne (1989, Buenos Aires, Argentina) grew up in Uruguay and currently lives and works in Cadaqués. His work houses references ranging from Baroque to Pop Art, claiming the role of art as a space for freedom of expression. Lalanne's paintings contain in the same canvas drops of classicism, comic and cartoon that transform characters and antagonistic landscapes into connected compositions. In a dialectic between classical philosophy and contemporary chaos Lalanne builds a genuine and original universe.

In 2009 he was selected by the Antonio Gala Foundation, Córdoba, Spain, to attend an artistic residence program, and among his latest exhibitions are:“Pop Cruise” at the Pablo Atchugarry Foundation (2016), Punta del Este, Uruguay, or “The Fragility of the Stage ”2019, Galleria Zielinsky, Barcelona.
