Denise Milan is a multimedia artist whose work spans various disciplines.She has collaborated with experts in science and technology, anthropology, archaeology, philosophy, literature, theater, and music. Her works have been exhibited in numerous renowned national and international institutions. Milan’s artistic practice centers on stone, expressed through public art, sculpture, performance, opera, poetry, printmaking, video, and multimedia art. She is a pioneer of public art in Brazil and an active advocate for its expansion both domestically and internationally.

Recently, she has held solo and group exhibitions such as "Fullgás - Artes Visuais e Anos 1980 no Brasil," Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (2024); "Viagem ao Centro da Terra," Farol Santander, São Paulo, Brazil (2024); "Mist of the Earth," Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park, University Park, USA (2024); and "Banquete da Terra," Parque Artístico Botânico da Usina de Arte, Água Preta, Brazil (2024).

Milan has been invited to exhibit her work at prominent national and international venues, including the Barbican Centre, London; MoMA PS1, New York; the 20th, 21st, and 33rd Bienal de São Paulo; EXPO 2000, Hannover; EXPO 90; Hakone and Open-Air Museum, Osaka; MASP - Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand, São Paulo; MAM - Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo; the Art Institute of Chicago; Palazzo del Monte Frumentario, Assisi; America’s Courtyard, Chicago; the Wilson Center, Washington D.C.; Galerie D’Architecture, Paris; Environmental Studies at Georgetown University, Washington D.C.; J.
