Leonardo Finotti
1977, Uberlândia, Brazil
Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil
The artistic path of Leonardo Finotti is structured in two complementary pillars. Through photography he undertakes, on one hand, a rigorous exploration on modern architecture, and on the other, he endorses an investigation on anonymous spaces in the city. These two poles form the guiding line of his production and feed each other. In both cases he constructs the image with thoroughness and formal precision.
His work has been selected to participate in solo and group shows, highlighting: Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA; The Deutsche Bank Kunst- Halle, Berlin, Germany; The Jewish Museum, New York, USA; Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, USA; The Architecture Biennale, Venice, Italy; Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Japan; MAAT - Museu da Electricidade, Lisbon, Portugal; Architekturfoyer ETH, Zurich, Switzerland; Museu da Casa Brasileira, São Paulo, Brazil; Casa dell’Architettura di Roma, Italy; Centro Cultural Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina; among others
