Raúl Díaz Reyes's oeuvre stands out for its minimalist visuality, made of oneiric visions and metaphysics. However, his focus is on exploring language as a concrete cultural object. This connects his work with the tradition of conceptual art. Raul's visual imagery results from his continuous explorations in contemporary aesthetics and semiotics: art history, abstraction, comics, cinema, architecture, design, landscaping, poetry, geometry, music, and even archeology. Its starting point is to alter and merge codes corresponding to sound, image, and word and to create a hybrid sign that allows testing a sort of trans-language. This approach, essentially synaesthetic, seeks new materiality and architecture for human memory.
